In the recent past, Ford Motor Company made an announcement that a lot of eggs will be put into their Chinese market basket and so far, the move is paying off. At the end of April, the automaker saw a 24 percent increase in sales for the month compared to 2011. A big portion of the thanks can be given to one vehicle in particular, the recently released Focus compact. One of the 15 new cars and trucks planned to make it to China in the near future, the Focus is a major player in Ford’s “aggressive” expansion which includes new assembly plants and a double in annual capacity by 2015.
“We are delighted to add the new Focus to our lineup in China and look forward to bringing more great vehicles to Chinese customers that they want and value,” said Dave Schoch, chairman and CEO of Ford China. In April, the 2012 Focus found 9,400 new buyers in the first few weeks which allowed Ford China to earn a total wholesale figure of 54,881 units. Those figures are rather impressive especially considering the little compact has only been available to the market since April. Year-to-date, Ford has sold 176,274 vehicles in the Chinese market and as of now, they are showing no signs of slowing down

2013 Traverse
